That's something interesting. Would appreciate more explanation around this concept. I have worked on Water Sensitive Cities for the past three years but this is a very different aspect of cities.

Climate change is expanding mosquito habitat in Hawaiʻi, threatening endangered birds with avian malaria.

So Hawaiʻi is releasing male mosquitoes with a strain of Wolbachia bacteria that make them incompatible with the females so their eggs don’t hatch. 🪶🧪
Scientists are dropping live mosquitoes out of drones in Hawaii. Here’s why.
The wild reason why bird advocates are releasing these reviled insects from the sky.

Individual choices do matter, but they can’t outweigh the colossal impact of a handful of billionaires and corporations driving climate collapse.

But let’s not ignore how the system is designed to keep us dependent on their products, through limited choices, aggressive marketing, and lack of transparency. Yes, consumption matters. But blaming individuals in a rigged system is exactly how big polluters avoid accountability.

Systemic change and regulation of major emitters must go hand in hand with lifestyle shifts. It’s not either/or, it’s both, with accountability where the bulk of emissions come from.

Absolutely agree that individual actions matter, we should reduce waste and make conscious choices. But the problem arises when the narrative centers personal responsibility while letting corporations off the hook.

The problem is that they (big polluters) made us believe that switching off lights and using reusable bags can solve the crisis, while they can keep on working with fossil fuels.

Women are not just victims of climate change—they are the solution. From leading protests to shaping policies, they are redefining climate action.

Completely agree. Tying CDR to oil only enabled greenwashing while delaying real action. The only way to make carbon removal meaningful is through an actual fossil fuel phase-out.

That’s a huge setback for U.S. climate policy. Gutting the CDR team weakens efforts to scale DAC just when investment and innovation are most needed. This uncertainty could slow progress at a critical moment.

Aging infrastructure and climate change are a dangerous mix. Without urgent upgrades, wastewater systems and wells will increasingly fail, especially in vulnerable regions. Water security needs to be a top priority.

Silencing discussions on extreme weather won’t stop climate change—it only delays action and worsens impacts. Climate risks don’t disappear just because institutions ignore them; they escalate, leaving the most vulnerable to bear the cost.
