There's absolutely no excuse for any R1 university to pretend that they stop research or that it's hindered by any outside events. Look at how many BILLIONS of dollars in endowment accounts TAMU and UT have, for example. Oh...and why can't students from the USA get scholarships? imo

but it appears that Russia wants/ needs the already Russian-sympathizing region of Eastern Ukraine for the port at Mariupol, which only freezes 2 to 5 months a year. A canal could be built in the Instanbul area.
