On this day in 1901, US President McKinley died of wounds inflicted by Anarchist Leon Czolgosz’s assassination attempt a week earlier. Comrade Emma Goldman tried to rally support for Czolgosz, as he went to trial, resulting in her own arrest. Czolgosz was executed and buried in an unmarked grave.
