This is the basic problem with America today, so many people (especially but not only those in power) have no morals or principles at all. All they have is greed, avarice, and resentment.

Those aren’t the two options. Blocking them means they disappear and don’t get seen by anyone. No it’s not going to make them better, but exposing fewer people to them is always better. The only point to “exposing” them would be for others to block them as well.

@dansavage.bsky.social had a bit about that a few weeks ago. Guys who are actually that big can’t get laid because they have a hard time finding someone they fit with!

I have also noticed random posts are sometimes missing. I go from my phone to PC and sometimes see some that didn’t show up on one or the other.

It’s frustrating there are so many people like that. At least blocking works very well on this site. I block people much more than I used to, and it makes reading better.

It’s not banning them though, it just flags them for the user’s settings. Do you think a lot of people who follow art nude accounts have theirs set to show non-sexual nudity but completely hide adult content? Even human moderators can’t objectively separate them.

You need to reply to each one in turn for it to thread properly (or use the “+” button to write the whole thread at once), otherwise how they appear depends on the reader’s settings.

It's probably impossible for any kind of ML algorithm to tell the difference without manually checking everything, which is too much work at the scale of this network. Besides, how many people have it set to show "non-sexual nudity" but absolutely hide "adult content"? Probably not many.

“Suggestive” is a crazy subjective thing for them to use. I guess one could say the first two are suggestive, but if they’re going after those they’d have to cancel millions of other accounts. Absurd.

There's a weird crowd of old prudish American resist-lib accounts that came here from Facebook, who fundamentally don't understand how to use social media so they follow 10,000 people and only look at the Discover feed. If you get onto there you attract their cluelessness like flies on shit.

I can’t say exactly why they spend the time to do it, but there are certain mainly-repost accounts I follow because it’s more targeted to my interests, whereas if I just followed all the original accounts it would be too much. And it’s a way to find accounts to follow.

No preference, either can be good and the quality of the image (for me) doesn’t depend on that. It’s more of interest who the model is in order to seek out more of their work, but of course if they wish to be anonymous that’s their choice.
