Those last few days may have been hard on your attention. With almost every UX career resource out there offering deals on their products and services, it was difficult not to fall into shiny object syndrome.
Yes, design is more than how it looks. Design means providing solutions to challenging problems. However, I continue to see UX designers scrutinize themselves and others for "just" delivering interfaces and products, and I believe there is something deeply wrong with that.
