“The one thing I’m not supposed to say — according to my two U.S. senators, Democrat-in-name-only John Fetterman and GOPer Dave McCormick — is that the Trump regime’s shredding of our First Amendment rights is an act of fascism, no matter what the best political-science experts might say.”
Kimmel yanked: Sen. Fetterman, can we call it ‘fascism’ yet? | Will Bunch
Trump regime shredded the First Amendment in forcing Jimmy Kimmel's off the air. Our 'leaders' still don't get it.

We can always count on billionaires to prioritize sports over schools, profits over people.

In the ongoing SEPTA crisis, getting fans to games outranks getting kids to class | Editorial
The city’s schoolchildren can rightfully ask why the struggles of football fans — with at most a dozen home games a year — have gotten so much more attention than their own.

The Trocadero Theatre was, for decades, one of the strongest beating hearts of Philly’s alternative music scene.
The Trocadero Theatre’s reopening has been rumored for years. But its future is unclear.
The theater at 10th and Arch that we lovingly call The Troc closed in 2019.

“The Trump administration is currently breaking every law that they could find,” said Adam Sheridan, one of the thousands of protesters at different events in Center City. “There’s a climate of fear that didn’t exist the first term.”

Bernie Sanders’ rally at City Hall is the headliner, but Philadelphia played host to multiple smaller rallies and protests Thursday.

My family uses SEPTA several times a week. These service cuts would devastate the Philly region. Our city has a major economic impact on PA, the ripple effects would be felt throughout the state.

The Philadelphia School District indicated it will ignore a rule directing schools to ban transgender athletes from participating in sports that match their gender identities.

The move comes after the state’s interscholastic athletics governing body changed a key policy around transgender athletes.
Philly schools will continue to allow transgender athletes to participate in sports that match their gender identity
The move breaks with PIAA, which passed a policy that sides with an executive order from President Trump.

The "Sixth Borough"?!?! Really @inquirer.com? Philly will never be NYC and we don't want to be. We are our own city. Let's focus on making housing more affordable for folks who already live here, rather than on how New Yorkers finally deem our city an acceptable place to live.
Looks like New Yorkers are leaving the Big Apple for the City of Brotherly Love.

Yesterday, Congress passed a dangerous anti-immigrant bill that upends due process in the U.S. justice system, empowers state politicians to oversee people’s deportation cases, and creates more family separation and child detention. Read our statement: immigrantjustice.org/press-releas...

Such a waste of time and resources that could've been spent on much more urgent issues. Maybe if the media's coverage of this project was this critical after the mayor's announcement to support it, less people would have bought into the BS so easily.

The time of city agencies and staff wasn't free.
