If you guys enjoy trick taking, I recommend Xylotar. It's a small little game that mixes hidden information, deduction, and trick taking. And it plays well with three or four players. From the same publisher as Cat in the Box.

Good list! Distilled is definitely the one I'm most curious to check out. FWIW, I don't think The Fox Experiment is heavier than most games on your list. It's basically a roll-and-write disguised as a board game.
