The league has changed, and teams do get promoted conceding more. But this season Boro have already conceded 31 goals, the same number they conceded in ALL of 15/16. 🤯

Giles stood out for his offensive work, that masked over his defensive short comings. But even if we were to bring Giles back, we might improve offensively, but we’re already good enough going forward, it’s defensively where we have issues. So the system needs tweaking IMO

On Borges, could he do better defensively? Yes.
But is he completely at fault? No.
It’s no coincidence #Boro have had SIX LB’s who’ve been exploited defensively in this system, including Giles.
Stock-piling another LB won’t solve anything. It’s a system issue over personnel.

Millwall have a very resolute defence, a top 6 defence who only average 40% possession.
They’re good without the ball, and they’ll allow #Boro the ball, and at the Riverside this season, that’s not been good news for Boro.

Another player who deserves credit is Delano Burgzorg.
It’s no shock to see a player improve under Carrick.
His great skill and strength is still there, but his decision making is getting better.
He’s no Riley McGree, but he’s proving to be a very good alternative.

We didn’t deserve to win the game, but that’s inexcusable from the officials.
How a professional linesman doesn’t see that offside is absolutely baffling.
It’s not even close, it’s not even tight, it’s so clear.

Even a *minor* knee sprain will likely have Morris out for 4-5 weeks.
The positive is he’s got a week head start before we come back for the Oxford game.
