Here, I visited Khang Yatse and others in the Hemis National Park, Ladakh last motnh. I'm sure you can notice the glacial retreat on the lower left. Both Khang Yatse (p1) and Ibsti Kangri (p2) ice deposits appear minimal.
Khang Yatse is a 6400m high peak in the Hemis National Park of the Transhimalayas of India. Khang Yatse and nearby Glaciers feed into the Markha river. This picture shows the glaciers just left of Khang Yatse. The retreat of the glacier is very obvious in the picture. Essentially, the glacial ice that is supposed to form a hanging glacier at the mouth of thr valley has reatreated, and now forms a massive dry wall of moraine.

Satellite imagery by ISRO shows the extent of damage to Dharali village which was been wiped out in toto. 100s of people are expected to have been burried alive in meters of debris.

comparative analysis of satellite images of 07.08.2025 (post-event) and available cloud-free pre-event data (13.06.2024) revealed the extent and severity of the destruction. The salient findings include: Indications of flash flood, with widened stream channels, altered river morphology and damage to human lives & infrastructure. Fan-shaped deposit of sediment & debris at Dharali village (~20ha area, ~750m X ~450m), at the confluence of the Kheer Gad & Bhagirathi River. Partial / complete destruction and disappearance of several buildings in the flood-affected zone, likely submerged or swept away by the intense mud flow and debris. A number of buildings appear to be submerged with mud / debris, in Dharali village.

The stickers you find in city, tell you everything you need to know about it. 🩵
Progressive stickers pasted on an orange metallic surface in a public place of a city. The sticker reads: "dont make me repeat myself -History" which alludes to the rise of Fascism in Europe. There are other LGBTQ+ friendly stickers as well. The poster expresses his pleasure by seeing these progressive stickers, and says that the stickers one sees in cities often tells a lot about the social atmosphere the one can expect from them.

A screenshot of a hike recorded in the Adventure app Komoot. The hiking tour was done of 19.04.2025 where the poster hiked for 28.7 Kms with total ascent of 1,130m. The poster is proud of their effort because the finished this hike in 5 hours and 27 minutes. There are two photos from the hike visible in the screenshot. The first is a photo of a medow where Dandelions are blooming, and the second one shows a Crane (bird) questing in the middle of a wooded stream.
