Looking at a 1912 patent from nearby of an airplane with circular wing to contain bags of hydrogen and act as a parachute, 5 propellers, including one for vertical take off/landing, and a platform for "aviator" and passengers. members of the EAA got nothin' on Charles Rogers of Newton, AL.
