Green Councillor for Trinity ward in Burnley.
Promoted by Martyn Hurt (Green Party) c/o 160 St James's St, Burnley BB11 1NR
Posts/comments are my own and not endorsed by the Green Party.

Trustee of Burnley Leisure and Culture.

Ataxian wheelchair user.
There's hardly any Local Authority enforcement of the offences they can act on as it is (certainly in Lancashire), all this means it's the police will have a reason to pass the buck to LAs who won't do anything, or take months/years to consider acting.
Majority wanted a ban but Government bottles it

He believes disabled people need to be subjected to more frequent assessments (apparently we can make ourselves un-disabled…who knew?)

Likewise.

It wasn't an easy decision initially due to some unknowns, but several events recently, and some clarifications, swung it for me.

That's fine, I really need a hobby!
Being a councillor doesn't count, and everything else I enjoy is slowly being abandoned due to being too much for my body to handle, somI might get some ideas :)

The Ataxia is progressive and now 24/7, but I manage with my duties as a Councillor, as much of the work can be done lying in bed, as and when I am able to, and I have fantastic colleagues to help me where needed.

Well, that's quite simple.
Trans men are men
Trans women are women
Non-binary identities are perfectly valid.

Every person has the right to decide who they are and for that choice to be accepted.

They cannot get away with this.

They must hear from every single one of us.

They must know how much this will affect them at the ballot box.

And instead of worrying about losing to Reform and his billionaire mates - they must know that they are absolutely losing the country.

We cannot allow ourselves to be frozen in a state of despair.

It's totally understandable if those affected feel they can't fight back - but for those who can, it's a moral responsibility.

Write to your MP. Attend a demo. And most importantly - let's get organised.
