In 2005, I was the only Liverpool fan in my HS senior class. Everybody was rooting for AC Milan in the UCL Final and at halftime, several classmates urged me to throw in the towel. 2nd half, 3 goals, and a spectacular display by Jerzy Dudek made the miracle of Istanbul a night to remember.

When my parents separated, my dad moved to an apartment building where the Argentinian-born, Peruvian-naturalized GK for my childhood club, Universitario de Deportes, Oscar Ibáńez lived. I met him a couple of times and I remember him as a great person. He was one of my favourite players.
