I think so, The Bell Inn, right in the middle of the village, only has a sandwich, but it was a nice pub and busy for a Monday, looked as if they had rooms as well.

Not read Midnights Children but did enjoy a radio adaption. Yes, read The Stand when it first came out. I really rate Stephen King, in any other genre he would have been hailed as a literary genius. Aside from the horror element, his picture of small town America is genius.
