Something many don't consider, the massive cost in money & energy in mining, transporting & processing fossil fuels prior to using them. Sunshine, wind, & water are all supplied free & clean from nature, it's a huge advantage. I worked in the mining and an associated industry; the cost is huge.

How do you think we attain the materials to build our future, including all the clean energy hardware!
We can chop all the trees down and try to make it all from wood, or kill animals and use their bone and fat, or we can mine it.

The two Koreas to prove your point fails because China disproves the point.
The two Chinas; not Taiwan and PRC, but PRC earlier and later - no change in governing system, big and fast changes in national wealth and success in all respects.
Korea point fails.

If you or I were accused of a serious crime we did not commit, we'd rail against it until our last breath - his and his family's is a case of consequences management.

I did not calculate for personal circumstances. I made a general calculation based on a common example of vehicles and energy regime. As you know, different vehicles and different energy supplies offer entirely different results - one size does not fit all. I see no mathematics at all in the report!
