I rewrite as I go along. I start my writing day by reworking what I wrote the previous day. After a finish a chapter, I rework again. When the first draft is completed, I reworked two more times before it goes to my editor.

Navarro ran for mayor here in San Diego when I was still working in newspapers. No one took him seriously. He's a buffoon. But then, he fits right in with the rest of this administration.
