My political philosophy proposal: we check regularly and if all the jobs in this book are no longer workable options for someone to make a living, then we stop and start again.

I agree with your points. The fragmentation and focus of mastodon is, for me, one of the benefits. I quite like watching a local timeline where I know that the content is most likely on a topic I’m interested in, and less likely to trigger me.
