When will Epic Games (Unreal Engine) acquire Dash (Polygon Flow)? Recall how ProBuilder became a defacto building tool for Unity. Similar seems to happen with Unreal here: www.youtube.com/shorts/Q21d1...

now might be a good time to plug the talk i gave last month about the AT Protocol. it’s about the relationship between the user and the product, about the shape of the web, and a bit about death

Commercially greedy vendors is a spectrum, those who acquire companies to fill up their stack is one type. Another are those inflating the sales process to make it impossible to avoid “customer success consulting”.
Where’s the Open Source Renegades movement? Should be an open org, taking back control of commercial software when they get greedy, by actually building the core version as Open Source. You can contribute for a stake of the proceeds of a cloud hosted model. A board to run it, all open.

New tech like Generative AI floods presentations instantly. A FOMO virus, self inflicted by thinking you will appear stupid by leaving it out. Blockchain all over again, although more valid use cases for AI.

OpenAI's Frontier Model Forum, paired with a Worldcoin/ID with critical mass is the dystopian, totalitarian future we've all been waiting to not happen... https://openai.com/blog/frontier-model-forum - "we are the good guys, we need to control this"

Being truly open from the start would go further!

Worx Vision lawn mower has no perimeter wire but instead uses its camera and a NN vision model. It works well in sterile environments, it must have a clean distinction between grass/no grass at the expected boundary. But that’s not practical for normal use cases, grass grows everywhere.

The Apple Watch, a marvel of tech wrapped around your wrist. It’s brilliant, sleek, and constantly there to remind you of appointments, emails, and heartbeats. Now, if only they could engineer one that complements my flair for timeless tardiness without clinging to my wrist like a needy Tamagotchi.

I need a modelling tool for data, where I can see how coupling between instances of several data models appear. Then be able to alter the data model design and instantly see coupling. Static diagrams are too poor on expression.

ChatGPT and Plugins is nice, but it suffers from the same structural persistence problem as email, Slack/Teams does. You don't have contextual access to your "stuff", and thus needs to rewire how/where you got/left that document etc. The entry/interface layer must be stronger.
