Wow, ordered with shipping for a grand total of $6.10. I feel like it's as likely to work as a 512 gb sd card from Aliexpress but we'll see.

Unfortunately, they can and do make it up.

They make up a story and their base eats it up as the truth.

Already, millions of people believe with absolute certainty that Renee Nicole Good was attempting murder. It will be impossible to get through to them (and god knows I try)

I have seen ChatGPT produce libellous statements, unprompted, about a public figure as part of its "thinking process".

Damn, I've gone from never knowing these existed, wanting them for xmas, to finding they're no longer available in less than a minute of googling.

Super, smashing, great.

Not until this moment, no.

Damn, I find out a day too late!

Anthony Scaramucci, of all people, had it right last week: Trump says he's not in the files, orders the release and when there is stuff about him, no matter how bad, he says it's all a hoax. And his base believe him because "no-one would be dumb enough to release files that show you're a pedophile"

Thank you so much for the incredible amount of laughs you've given us all over the last fifteen years.

My only wish is that we got another series of The Witchfinder

Even better I'd like them to not load the question with a premise - that the video is deepfake. We know it's a deepfake.

Instead, why not ask "The president shared a video where he talked about how we're all going to be getting Medbeds soon. Can you explain how this will work?"

Jeff Bezos for sure.

Harold Shipman, Fred West, Ian Brady for three. Unless I'm missing something.

That may be the best reasoned, decent argument I've read on the subject. When you know trans people who are scared to visit the UK because of the Equality Commision's 'guidance' on bathrooms, it's good to show they don't speak for everyone.

If I wasn't an atheist, I'd be happy to be a Quaker.

It wasn't Allan Beswick, who James Whale wholesale ripped off his persona from, with less than 1/10th of the wit or intelligence.

It's so sad how little of Beswicks's stuff from the mid 80s is available. There were some recordings on youtube 5 years ago but they got taken down.

Maybe so. But if the screening has too many false positives/negatives, which I think is the conclusion of Cochrane, it may not be easy to fix with training or equipment.

That's why Cochrane meta studies, if done right, are far more important than personal stories such as the one above.

I'm as pro-science as they come (and agree that radiation from mamograms is utterly inconsequential). But when Cochrane authors say that mammography screening "is harmful and should be abandonded" (www.drmyhill.co.uk/drmyhill/ima...), this seems to be relevant. Unless you have better evidence?

I honestly think ChatGPT will soon kill at a higher rate than many Class A drugs.

The reason it won't be banned is the same reason that Facebook wasn't banned when it became apparent it was torturing content moderators and giving them industrial scale PTSD.

Model collapse can't come soon enough.

Agreed. But thanks for the reminder to get off my butt and use the money that was going to my old wapo subscription to support your patreon too.
