Suzuki (26) - Caufield (25)
Kapanen (22) - Demidov (20) - slaf (21)
Hage (19) - zharvosky (18)

In 2 years, I cannot imagine what this team will be like.

Our window is opening and Toronto’s is closing. Good time to be a Habs fan.

If you don’t mind me asking.
What was the best team Canada squad you’ve seen in those 34 years and what was the biggest shocking disappointment team?

Anxious to see what lines 2 and 3 can do tonight.

Let’s just say for fun that the Habs cannot trade Price’s contract. Couldn’t they put someone like Gallagher on LTIR before the season starts. That would get us under the cap for the first 10 games or 24 days and then put price on LTIR after and take Gallagher off LTIR? We save the cap space.

Absolutely agree with that statement. And while they are at it, teach Xhekaj to be the same on D. Someone needs to take up savards PK minutes.

Would you say that this offseason could be the most important of GM Hughes tenure? It feels that they are now at a turning point where results will outweigh learning, to some degree. Does management have the patience for Dach if price for 2nd line Center is outrageous?

With tough customers in Wilson and Duhaime, do you feel not having xhekaj in lineup in Washington could be a mistake? Washington seems like a big and heavy team.

I am glad he turned his season around. It would be nice to see him make it to the nhl, just don’t think it will be the Habs.

I suspect he will be a trade chip along with our firsts to try and move up in draft or secure a 2nd line centre.

Thoughts on switching slaf and demidov? The whole defensive system might be a lot for him in his first game. Having Suzuki as center might help him along.

I am at the game and just slightly behind the net. When the pass was made to Laine I automatically thought another pass was coming because of the angle. Never thought he would shot and score. Happened so fast.

RealisticyPittsburgh will not win cup in next 2 years. I am sure Crosby loves the penguins organization. This would be the best direction for them. Get as many assets as you can from Crosby, malkin, Letang and Karlsson. It could expedite a retool/rebuild if done properly.

I liked the article Brian. I thought maybe malkin could be a stop gap for 1 year and could help ease in Demidov. Even if malkin cannot play a full year it gives beck or kapanen a chance to fill in once in a while.
Unlikely chance he leaves Pittsburgh but it was a thought. Pitt needs to rebuild.

Why would dallas ever make this trade? They have Benn, duchene, dadanov, granlund, Lindell and Ceci all coming off the books. They will re-allocate funds to the people they want to keep like duchene and Lindell. They do not have any future centres in the pipeline. They most likely will keep him.

Very hard to answer that when we don’t know what the asking price was for some of the players he was interested in.
I think Hughes planted seeds for a potential summertime deal. Habs are not in a position to overpay just yet for a cup run.

Extremely unlikely but I thought about Malkin. He’s got this year and next year left and could be a good mentor for Demidov’s first year. Pittsburgh has to start thinking of a rebuild.

I thought the same thing but when you look at wingers under contract next year it’s hard to find him a spot.
Top 4 wingers will be 13, 20, 92 and Demidov.
Bottom 4 will be 11, 17, 15 and 51.
Not sure where Dach fits next year if not a center.
