We seem to be talking past each other. As ever, trying to have a sensible conversation on internet comments generates more heat than light.

Ah - yes the article says more. I shouldn't attempt to rewrite the article in bluesky comments

There's always some danger in having a computer program access sensitive data, but without it's difficult to get things done. How do we access our inventory system without credentials? Or should we have it that no LLM should ever access a system that has authentication?

The thinking here is that if you can control what goes into the LLM, then it won't go rogue. The problem, of course, is that there are more ways for instructions to get into the LLM than many realize - hence the danger of reading pages on the web.

If I ever become Ruler of the World, I'll shut down AWS us-east-1 every couple of years just to see who is dependent on it.

It's pretty ridiculous really. If you have a site-status function, you know the time you really need it is when your site is having problems - so it's stupid to host it in the same place!

I'd avoid "vibe" - as it's closely associated with vibe coding. I rather like @kentbeck.com' s use of "augmented" programming. Although the need for such a term won't last long as it becomes BAU.
