Long retired economist, inter alia. Political economy determines your nation's life course. Not a bad idea to turn control away from the exploiters and to give power back to Ordoliberal social policy. The returns are developmental
Imagine how native Americans felt after settlers destroyed habitat and blew away Passenger Pigeons, when they were once so numerous they blotted out the sun.

Opening the House - finally. That's an admission either public criticism is hurting the GOP or they think the Dems have enough turncoats.

There seems to be a few Dems every 4 years that are secretly bought by the GOP. Sinema and Manchin previously. John Fetterman had a stroke but is that why?

Macquarie Bank is that capitalist construction that has no morals, no care for the harm it does - UK water for example, and its taxable structure is outrageous. This is what legislation should do - stop these firms from the pure harm they do.

On top of which there's no discount coupon. Black Fri I guess.

What shit's me is that local AUD prices are double the USD price when the FX rate is a third dearer. Local markups are excessive.

Let me gain a Quisling's acceptance by destroying my people. And when I've done that, and there's no more use for me, the GOP will turn on me quicker than a snake.

If you criticise the NYT for its Right wing apologia, its support for corporate elites and the consequential downfall of democracy, - the NYT grabs your singular identification (the unique config of apps, serial numbers you have) call you a robot and ban you. The NYT can't handle the criticism.

Subtle, maybe. Necessary => absolutely.

"And you have the choice to not use it beyond your choices." Could you be somewhat more specific in explaining what is meant by "...to not use it beyond your choices." I'm not the brightest. Thanks.

Slippery slope argument. That's the problem with Baader Meinhof. It's the innocent's that get hurt. If we could have a perfect RBF with a line drawn without slippery slope. We'd save our society.

Is that the first time PHON at 11.3% outvoted The Greens? Is eastern section of your electorate where the RW are? I guess any further east and it would be a Nationals seat? When I saw the thrombolites at Lake Clifton felt like going back to the dawn of time. (Guess you may feel that way politically)

Exactly, the replacement party. ALP Logic: "We would love to reform, but if we did RW MSM would hurt us and you. So we can't but vote for us anyhow cause we want reform but won't do it. Makes us better than the LNP"

Here's the corruption why Rudd got shafted

The Second British Invasion: how royal cronies and the gas debacle took Australia for billions - Michael West
Senate Estimates confirmed last month that BG Group's gas bonanza has delivered diddly-squat to Australia in tax - despite claims it would contribute "more than $1 billion"

The alts for rump of Left wing voters? If vote Greens, and the candidate doesn't win - Labor does. Punish Labor with LNP vote chopping off your head to spite your face, no. This is the first time I want my vote to die, not act contingently, preferentially, if #1 candidate doesn't win.

What to do?

Tesla board is ~stacked with Musk's family, friends. Whether that is sufficient to win/push over rest of the board's support one does not know. Any other CEO who impacted sales in that manner would be terminated. When my purchase for an EV arises will certainly never buy anything Musk associated.

Many women are economically forced to delay children to later in life. What percentage of female income earners below forty are not affected by interest rates, high house prices, job security? It's easy to say it's a natural event but square it with the difficulty of economic context.

Yeah, I've only got 21 million, Pelosi made around 120 million in office, so I still have a lot to learn.

It demonstrates Labor/Albanese were never serious about the NACC. Labor's agreement was with the LNP - to satisfy and cover both their respective backsides, an 'in name only' commission. No teeth - compromised by structure. It was nothing more than a self-serving election announcement, in form only.

That is exactly what capitalism has become, mere entitlement, the irony of begging and nothing to do with innovation, competition, efficiency.

Now you can why state investor dispute resolution was nothing but public theft.

Whoever let Kaiser into Nixon's office should have been shot. Nixon was initially against private healthcare but was talked around.
