First edition of Mary Kelly's The Spoilt Kill, winner of the 1961 Gold Dagger (pipping John Le Carre to the prize). A terrific novel, happily republished by the British Library a few years back. #crimeclassics #detectivefiction

Elizabeth Anthony’s lost Christmas mystery, now rediscovered. Her real name was Barbara Rubien, and her sister Nancy wrote excellent crime novels as Shelley Smith. Barbara ran a coffee bar and later an antiques market, which may be why she never found much time for writing. #detectivefiction
