Midsummer celebration have pagan roots and is a serious thing in Sweden. This year we celebrate midsummer in Roslagen. From this area Swedish vikings ventured east and eventually founded Rus and Kievan Rus. Civilisations that preceded what is now Russia and Ukraine.

I love to use wood with a history. I recently used a more than 100 year old piece of mahogany to new engine brackets for my outboard. I salvaged it from a broken furniture from my great grandfather. It will bring me double joy every time a use it.

A strong democracy must be able to handle intolerance institutionally. If not, it will sooner or later abolish itself. But this is of course a risky decision and it will not fix the root cause of AfDs success.

Running through Stockholm in sunny spring temperatures and enjoyed the returning colours. Passing Dag Hammarskjöld memorial reflecting on the present state of the UN. Also payed my respect at the veterans memorial. ”I don’t share your opinions but I’m ready to die for your right to express them”.

The only areas the talks on ceasefire are moving forward are where the Russians benefits more than the Ukrainians. Who would have guessed that when all pressure are on 🇺🇦 and only soft talk with the Russians. A disgrace!

A gentle correction. Traditionally the heir to the throne is trained to be an officer in the Royal Swedish Navy. That does not of course exclude some proper training in soldier skills.
