The Italian #Airbnb market is concentrating: bigger hosts (usually agencies) are eating up more properties. Rome is an exception. Post in English

Reading the excellent "Human Resources, slavery and the making of modern Britain". Authors say that UK school curricula gloss over the slave trade, treat it almost like a far accident and not the systemic cause of this country's (and more) wealth. What's your experience if you were schooled here?

Do you like the Neapolitan one too? That's an 8 ("fante", in this case of "coppe"), I never knew whether it was meant to be a woman, yours looks like. There's plenty variation in Italian cards about appearance but they're all 10-based system, different from the french one

It took a while but Tesco is finally packaging tomatoes in cardboard, not the horrible plastics it had till just recently. This country (UK) produces way too much plastics. #environment

@jeperego.bsky.social eccone una per la serie "parole italiane prese e usate in isolamento senza grammatica basilare", avrei forse tollerato un participio ma niente, nemmeno quello sforzo

Based on this I've done a #datacard about HBCUs, "historically black colleges and universities" in the US. She was a force of nature, travelled by train at 16 to get an education in another state, established schools for black kids that were continuously burned down by white supremacists #history

After a great walk on the John Muir's way, went to visit the wonderful namesake birthplace in Dunbar, learning a lot about his life and how he was pivotal for the creation of the national parks in the US. Absolutely recommended!

25th April, Liberation day in Italy. I've celebrated by visiting a commemorative site (the grave is in Italy) of a Scot who fought alongside the Italian Resistance. #25aprile

Last year was very rich and very delightful in terms of big sport events - this is the #datacard I did after #Paris2024. I loved those Olympics so much! Sport rankings always reflect geopolitics.

I went to a great event last week by the Ukrainian community in the UK. Music, stories, poems. Lots stayed with me, including when @jenstout.bsky.social asked "what is Europe, a standard of living?". #Europe is a great achievement, let's preserve it. Here's hoping it really fights the good fight.

What's happening in the #US is pretty bad on many grounds, one being the censoring, heavy cuts, threatening of researchers and all #science. Bad for the future and impacts people's lives A LOT. @pcmasuzzo.bsky.social came up with this banner, you can use it too to #defendresearch

At a concert to celebrate Ukraine's resilience and praise its sacrifice. And they say it how it is here in Scotland, see the highlights
