Totally understand, but on top of the development economics there are some companies that are particularly ruthless and hungry for “global dominance” while painting themselves as being merely helpful.

Even in the AI field, there are plenty more ethical developers out there.

Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.

@cogdog They both need to happen. Even in education there is a tonne of just “admin work” that should be automated away. The learning stimulation is not happening enough, which is why I see such an opportunity right now.

@cogdog Personally I actually far prefer disclosure about use of AI tools than trying to hide it (which causes many problems)

Realistically for most it’s probably a mix of “wow that actually worked” and wanting to inform others that “AI can do this now”

I’m still pretty wowed by how far […]

@strypey @julian I know you know this but to clarify for anyone who might not have realised: git is open source by Linus Torvalds and is beautiful, github.com is a site owned by Microsoft and is not related to git at all.
