I essentially see Havertz 2.0 who's quick, can smash a ball and is younger. 100% makes sense a signing.

Sesko a younger more athletic Havertz. I don't see us changing the way we play to accommodate a different style.

The argument is, would those available the last two windows been an improvement on what we already have? If the players aren't there what can you do. Equally, we forget we have 2 forward who aren't available due to long term injuries.

Timber definitely had an impact. Started a little slow but said "fuck this" and was aggressive getting the first ball that stopped them playing over the press as easily.

Normally the defender would get the benefit of the doubt in those 50/50s. But......

In an alternate reality Havertz and Jesus are sharing minutes and continuing a steady flow of g/a, Saka is on course to break the assist record, Martinell and MØ are matching 22/23 numbers, and Merino is on course for 1500 mins and 8g/a in his debut season. He's a victim of circumstance.

Feel the negativity around Merino is due to the lack of forward signing. If we'd got a striker in the summer plus him he'd be viewed as the rotation left 8 floor securing signing he was meant to be.

and we as fans can analyse the season as a whole once it's done and point towards where things went wrong then.

The club will do this and probably are already.

Again it is disappointing at how it's gone but I'm sure the club, the players and the manager feels that too.

current situation it's not bad either.

In the context of our start of season expectations, it's a game we should be winning and I understand the disappointment in not doing so.

Maybe our expectations need to be more fluid given context of how the season has gone. Give the team our support

After the west ham match it was important not to lose at forest considering their league position. Focus now is below and staying ahead not above.

It's what the game needs. So frustrating seeing an experienced player standing offside when he can see the entire back line. Worse that we work the space then switch and it's all for nothing.

Yes, and not the billionaire in power or influence that are getting richer of the back of them.

"They're the reason you're poor, let's deal with them. Oh, by the way the water is going up 7% wholesale so your bill is going up 15%."

It'll be too soon and the harsh reality is there's little point rushing people back and risking another injury. Get as many right for after the international break and the run in. As frustrating as the seasons been we need to be realistic and make sure we focus on those below us rather than above.

That's after the Utd game, hopefully Martinelli is back. If not who knows.

Maybe with lack of numbers they should go 442 or 4411.

I'd like 4411 with Tierney left mid for his pace, Rice pushes forward as left 8 and the LB fills the space he leaves.

I agree, he's not got the engine either. I do see him getting minute in that role just for some form of continuity and an option to provide others a rest for 20-30 mins.

In reality I think Trossard false 9, Sterling left, Nwaneri right for the next 3 with Martinelli (hopefully) back for Utd away.

Stylistically Merino is the player most similar to Havertz available to us. We are either going to play him as a 9 or a variant of that or completely change or structure which I don't think will happen.

I will add, whilst I do think it's shit. We were in it at the semi final stage and I do feel disappointed we haven't gone through. Again we lost it at home and I never believed we'd pull it round at St James. It's been a bogey stadium for us in the last few seasons.

How does that imply an arrogance?
