Look at this amazing picture of an Einstein ring, which is actually an image of two galaxies that are in reality, separated by a large distance. It appears as one galaxy due to the effect of gravitational lensing that bends the light from a very distant object around a massive intermediate object.

NASA Astrobiology on Twitter had a really cute gif of Perseverance Rover waving to Europa Clipper as it performs a Mars flyby on March 1st. It's too good to not share it here. Kudos to the artist! Perseverance will actually attempt to image it during the flyby.

On March 1st, Europa Clipper will flyby Mars and use its gravity to help bend its trajectory and position for an Earth flyby in December 2026, before it slingshots towards the Jupiter system. Check out the animation in the link below.

The mule deer thrive on lab and regularly roam around from building to building. They are as iconic as the rovers and spacecrafts.

This was a picture of the lab that I took last week, a day before the layoffs. The following day was a tough one to endure. I wish all of my former colleagues great success in their next endeavor. They will be missed and their contributions will not be forgotten.

Just a quick plug for Holger Isenberg's website areo.info/mars20/. I try to check it every day for the latest processed NavCam images of Mars. This particular one was taken on Sol 1332 (or 11/17/24) as the rover was traversing up the western end of Pico Turquino.

Hi new followers and welcome! I'm glad to see that we are getting critical mass of new adopters here. Just a self-introduction: I'm a systems engineer at NASA and I've worked on both Europa Clipper and the Perseverance Rover. Here's a picture of me in front of the rover when it was still on Earth. 🌎
