As a veteran of city rallies, I found No Kings Day in the trending-blue Philly suburbs fascinating: hundreds of protestors lining the Baltimore Pike (peacefully avoiding interactions with mingling MAGAs), while cars honked in solidarity (with MAGA middle fingers mixed in). A beautiful afternoon.

Are we back to this? "Almighty God created the races white, black, yellow, Malay and red...on separate continents....that he separated the races shows that he did not intend for the races to mix" (recounted in Loving v. Virginia, 1967, striking down laws against marriage across racial categories).

I sooo get it about being scared and freaked out about publishing a very personal memoir. I remember wanting to lock my finished manuscript in a drawer! But the book appeared, and over time I arrived at feeling at peace--even happy--with it. May the same be true for you. (If I may: bit.ly/4jJc70V).
