Check out my 6 books at MarthaEngber.com and uniting Americans blog, VigilantPositivity.wordpress.com.
So that's my question: do you read the reviews of bookstagrammers? My book tour just started and I want to know who might take a peek.

Want to avoid giving money to corporations this holiday season? Here are 3 tips:

-buy books by small press authors like me
-buy directly from the small presses
-buy from local bookstores, or through BookShop (dot) org, which supports all of the above!

No matter where you are or what you’re doing, no matter whether you’re eating a traditional Thanksgiving dinner or having pizza, no matter whether you’re with a lot of people or by yourself, I hope joy finds you.

If you love to read books about experiences you’ve never had in places you’ve never been, and you know someone who writes, or would like to write, please pass along this information. It's sponsored by Vine Leaves Press, the publisher who published two of my books (and my third this fall).

If you’ve always wanted to write an alternative narrative for female characters portrayed in the Bible, don’t bother! Cordelia Biddle did it for you in her newest book, just released from Vine Leaves Press. Irreverent, witty, spicy!

I love, love, love my characters, even when they misbehave, because they teach me so much about the world and myself. How about yours?!

While camping beside a lake, I once woke to the sound of a loon. It was one of the eeriest, most beautiful sounds I’ve ever heard. Birdsong plays a crucial role in my historical novel about a female warrior.

Are you a birder? If so, you can find more research links on my website.

During a recent giveaway on the American Historical Novels FB page, I asked participants who wanted to win a copy of my novel, The Falcon, the Wolf and the Hummingbird, to answer that question. And the responses...WOW! I couldn’t get over the love, support and appreciation we women show one another!

You know how your name gets added to email lists for things or subjects you usually have no interest in, yet every once in awhile you do? So it goes with HistoryFacts. How else would I have learned this weird little fact? A suggestions I’m absolutely going to start using.

Mary Donahue, the 15-year-old protagonist of my novel, WINTER LIGHT, which takes place in 1978-79 Chicago, listens to a lot of hard rock. Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink, Floyd, etc. What's your favorite lyric or song from your teen years?

@sgould.bsky.social I’m a documentary buff, especially those that herald hope for the future. Josh Kahn’s new film, “Untapped: Closing America’s Opportunity Gap” does just that.

I found this online "determine your favorite genre" quiz. First, who doesn't already know their favorite genre? Second, what's with the crazy questions and answer choices?!

Are you looking for your next great nonfiction or fiction read? Consider getting a sample from these American, British and Irish authors, who read from their works recently during a @Vine Leaves Press online event.

Mary Donahue, the protagonist of my edgy YA novel “Winter Light,” was 7 years old in 1970 (and I was six) when Earth Day was established in the US. We've come a long way, so thanks to all of you who are doing what you can to literally clean up our world! Do you have a favorite tree?

I’m developing a TV series with a small group of writers and we’re putting together our pitch materials. One is a “bible,” which is an outline of the show.

This image is the first page of the bible from a really famous TV show. Anybody know which one?
