New Mexican here! It’s that and that the whole state is very rural, schools are underfunded, teacher shortage and retention issues etc. During COVID our governor made college free for all residents, and just recently made universal child care free, so that should help improve things in the long run

Wow. This is wild. Is there a word that describes things that are horrifying, dangerous, and also so stupid that they’re almost funny? If this word doesn’t exist we need to create it.

There were 500+ people in my tiny, rural New Mexican town. Left my phone at home (no pics), but one lady had a sign that said “Not a Paid Protester”
