Had a nice Mother’s Day walk and saw this yellow-bellied sapsucker, along with lots of yellow warblers, a redstart, a Baltimore oriole, a red-bellied woodpecker, a gray catbird, a pair of sandhill cranes, and the usual other crew. 🪶

While driving today in rural Wisconsin, I noticed several cars pulled over and people looking up, some with cameras… I pulled over and got out and saw that there was a snowy owl on top of a telephone pole!! Wish I had had a better camera with me! (south of New Glarus , WI) 🪶

Made the best Reuben sandwich ever! Big Country rye bread from cressspringbakery.com (from the Farmers' market), sauerkraut from kingfisherfarmandferment.com (from the Farmers' market), Emmentaler Swiss cheese, corned beef, and my own special sauce (made with horseradish that my husband made). 🍽️
