My sister-in-law is on an National Science Foundation review panel focused on risk management and risk analysis. Her meeting next week in D.C. has been canclled to make sure there are no "DEI viruses" "infecting" this quantitative science.

Rock Dr. Ralph built a new kestrel nest box - with camera! We'll be in touch with the good folk @theperegrinefund.bsky.social to see if/how we can participate in citizen science to monitor kestrels. Pre-camera, we've had kestrels 2 of 4 years. Camera has a mic so we hope we can "haze" starlings!

@theperegrinefund.bsky.social hello! We finally have the set-up for adding a camera to our kestrel nest box here in North Central Washington. Two of the last 4 years we've had kestrels (other two years starlings and flickers). Can someone advise me on when we should have the box ready for nesting?
