Presented some emerging work linking wetland resilience to plant diversity at the 2024 Society of Wetland Scientists 2024 meeting this week in Taipei, Taiwan. Bottom line: Diversity boosts recovery from freeze damage in the mangrove-marsh ecotone on the Texas coast.

What's going on here? In the middle of a mangrove stand that was badly damaged by a cold snap in 2021, marsh and mangrove plants are starting to recover. Why here, and not elsewhere? Much of the area is still a graveyard of dead mangroves. 🧪🌎

Hi, I'm Anna, and I'm a coastal wetlands ecologist working in the Gulf of Mexico. I study restoration and human impacts in salt marsh, mangrove, and seagrass habitats. Probably (definitely) the muddiest professor at TAMUG!
