When several of your guys are exhausted to the point of being borderline useless - not tracking runners, cant stay on front of the ball carrier - it’s probably ok to question whether some more energy would have helped. Even if it is from players who are supposedly inferior

Yeah I have no idea what busted saka and trossard particularly were supposedly contributing in the last 10 mins that‘s so irreplaceable
The supposed quality gap between the favourites and the rest isn’t so great that it covers them being absolutely exhausted in a backs to the wall situation

Eligibility changes have made it worse tho- it’s a better spread of talent and more interesting matchups, but at the cost of hollowing out the tier 1 nations and widening the quality gap between int and origin

It’s actually shocking how little you hear about use of consultants at nrl hq. Seems like it would be right up their alley, but I guess it doesn’t fit with vlandos strongman ethos.

Also arsenal’s draw scores way easier because of kairat, but at a certain point bad teams are an automatic 3 points regardless of their actual coefficient.
Like is kairat really going to be that much harder than qarabag or pafos or bodo or spurs?

I feel like strength of schedule is the usual way to talk about these things, rather than probability of progression. Are you trying to have a different conversation to everyone else?

I get that I dont get it, but it’s not like we’re this incredibly fluid, buccaneering side executing at a high level
What if we tried a tiny bit lower degree of difficulty and just let our superior talent work on doing it better?
Instead of letting Havertz drift back to RB with no one in the box?
