I do however have faith and love for this town and it's ppl if you can shift through the beer soaked glitter and our own egos.

Ashevillians love a good cultural appropriation or even straight up culture vultures as long as they are popular

Mutual aid work and orgs that don't get all the spot light shine.
There are more non profits than breweries here. And what 'radicalized' me was working for some of those non profits.
I couldn't wade through those empty missions statements and jargon.

There are a lot of performative actions but a lot of good as well if you dig a bit more deeper and ppl doing actually good work

on the real issues of his segregated this town is. How traditionally marginalized folks are actually treated and a fentanyl epidemic that you can witness at every major intersection.

Ppl will jump on a hot button issue with flyers and protest whether it's save the the woods or the pool and forget a few weeks later rather than dig down deep

but won't give up profiting from their Airbnb's or converting them to long term rentals even after more families and folks are houseless after hurricane Helene. Spending their dollars without intention on who it benefits... But those are things ppl don't think about because it doesn't impact them.

This little mountain that I do love has some deep rooted issues. Sure everyone is a liberal who supposedly cares
But not enough to impact their own interest. People who vote once every four years are shocked by what's happening politically but live like conservatives. Care about affordable housing
