We usually only see glimpses of the ghost... the female is more prevalent. I had ample opportunity in February and am happy I got more than the usual glimpse.

Putting my calendar together and was surprised I had forgotten them. I was looking for "good" grey ghost photos (which I had none) and there he was. Probably the best AK I've ever taken.

Happy staycation to you both. Sometimes, just being away from work is vacation enough. Woke up to an inch on the ground here, and still snowing. Haven't gone birding since last Saturday and it feels like I'm going through withdrawal... lol Oh well, have a great day and week ahead!

Thank you! The only time they truly upset me is when they are mimicking Hawks. Here I’m ready to see (and hopefully photograph) a majestic hawk only to find a Blue Jay. 😩Otherwise, I enjoy seeing them. 😆

This was my first time finding one. After tiring of the ever-growing number of folk crowding around him, I moved on. Of course, when I was on the other side of the park, he showed up in an open area much to the happy surprise of other birders. Oh well. Someday I'll be in the right spot (I hope).

If it helps... I found him on May 10--a Saturday... around 6 pm when many festival attendees had left for the day--made parking easier. The bird was on the Estuary trail link up with Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge. He's been spotted in the same location 3 years in a row.
