Happy to join the team of President of the 80th Session of the General Assembly!!
As a resident of Roosevelt Island, a place symbolic of the struggles & triumphs of women throughout history, i felt great to be present at this event hosted by @myswitzerland.bsky.social & Circle of Women Ambassadors to renew commitment to gender equality, & the empowerment of women, everywhere.
Gender equality is not a vague aspiration but a moral imperative.
We must rally around the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and send a clear message that equality, rights and empowerment for all girls and women is possible in our lifetime.
