Yeah, as if I'm going to stand in line to open an account in a US bank, after the Administration let Elon take over the entire Treasury payments system in an afternoon. I left "X" b/c I don't trust it anymore and it's *free*. What do you think I'm going to do with my SAVINGS?

I fall squarely in the "reason is the slave of the emotions" camp. In light of the backfire effect, where group identity trumps factual corrections, the fact that the neocortex evolved last and is painfully slow compared to the deeper parts of the brain, and being a gal, I'm skeptical.

Wait a minute, so you mean the push for cheap eggs in the first place and consequent pressures on farming practices, which in turn would encourage overcrowding aimed at mass production, probably played a role in the rising price of eggs? Meaning, in effect, we have no one to blame but ourselves?

I guess 3 bucks for dozen eggs is too high a price to pay for civil servants and government officials with integrity.

Sadly, the belief that there is such a thing as simple answers in a highly complex world probably speaks to at least some of 47’s appeal. But yeah, it’s actually due to a myriad of factors both current and historic.
