I want one of those people who make cute grammar/usage cartoons to make one for “single” vs. “singular.” All I can find is thiswebsite, and it’s informative but not cute or memorable. thecontentauthority.com/blog/single-...
Single vs Singular: Which One Is The Correct One?
Are you confused about when to use the words "single" and "singular"? Don't worry, you're not alone. These two words are often used interchangeably, but they

I ordered some things 10 days ago so I could get them before Black Friday. A label was created and my card was charged, but nothing else happened. Today I decided to ask before the holiday. They say that USPS hasn’t picked up any shipments in that time. This is almost certainly a load of BS. 🤬

I’ve learned not to expect too much from AI, but sometimes it gets way more confused by a factual question than I would expect. I guess we all have bad days and get stuff wrong, so maybe this shows how human it really is?

It’s always funny how some people throw the fact that I’m a published poet at me in an argument as if it is the vilest of insults. Anti-intellectualism sure runs deep in these parts (and maybe in most parts, these days).

I’m feeling very tricksy because I finally figured out how to get Windows 11 on our desktop PC. I’ve heard many people say they prefer Windows 10, but my first impression is favorable.🤞🏻

A myth I see repeated way too often by younger people online: that women couldn’t open bank accounts until 1974. I know this isn’t true, because my mother kept her own bank account throughout her marriage to my father. Here’s a good article with more details: cei.org/blog/yes-wom...
Yes, women had access to credit before 1974 - Competitive Enterprise Institute
March is Women’s History Month, a time to acknowledge and celebrate many “firsts” for women in public life. One of those “firsts” is the ability for American women to open a credit card independently,...

Chipotle shorted me worse today than they ever had before. I’ve been paying for double meat and double rice in the hopes of getting a reasonable portion, and all I’m doing is paying more to be shorted. I’m a middle-aged woman, not a trucker, so I just want a normal portion, not something supersized.

I’m curious about the BJP at the bottom of this book page. I don’t see another instance of this in the whole book. Does anyone have an idea?

Why is there such a disconnect between the care that doctors want to provide and what’s actually possible? When my doctors give a very specific timeframe for a follow-up, almost without exception I’m offered an appointment two or three weeks after this date.

I just heard a radio ad for Kraft Mayonnaise, proudly stating that they use eggs “made right here in America.” Are imported eggs a rampant problem? Somehow I doubt it! Do hens make eggs, anyway? I guess that’s technically right, but not the word I’d use. So many questions!

I can’t figure it out, but every FedEx delivery we’ve had since Thanksgiving has come with the box reeking of perfume. It’s gotten so I try not to order anything from any merchant that uses FedEx. When one slips through, I have a multi-step system to avoid contaminating myself or the contents. 😞

We watched You’ve Got Mail last night. I’d seen it on TV in the early ‘00s, but I’d never seen it whole and uncut, and it’s a much better movie than I gave it credit for. In 1998, I would never have believed you could meet someone in a chat room and still know them 27 years later, but here we are. ❤️

In the hospital for the first time since 2004. I’m resting comfortably, as Dr. Phlox would say.

I’m having one of my periodic health flares, and this one is especially bad. If you are a praying person, I’d appreciate some prayers right now. If not, positive thoughts would also be appreciated.

I always post about bad consumer experiences, so here’s an unexpectedly good one. Checking the dates on the frozen vegetables in the basement freezer, one bag seemed way heavier than the rest. I weighed it on my kitchen scale; we got 17 oz. of corn instead of the 12 we were supposed to. #BonusCorn

I’m not a happy camper. I went to the trouble of sending my old iPad, which was still working very well except for the battery life, to #Apple for trade-in. This was a cumbersome process and took weeks. They said I could get up to $75.

A first after many years of baking: my wooden spoon snapped off in my brownie batter! I’m pretty sure I got all the little pieces of wood. 🤞🏻

All week I’ve been very excited to see Jason Brown skate at US Nationals, and now I just realized that’s *next* weekend.

I had a professor in library school who never graded the paper I actually turned in. His comments would always be about how much more fruitful it would have been to pick a different (and very specific) topic, and then he’d inevitably give me a B+. It didn’t make me want to try harder.

I got an email offering me an interview for an editorial position at $50 an hour, so I knew it had to be a scam. 😂 The thing is that it seemed pretty legit. The company is real, and the URL where it directed me was almost the same as the real one. Tread carefully, my friends. Question everything.
