Brimstoner, millstoner,
James Dobson Junior
Whipped many millions through
Works that he penned;
Each one repaid by some
Disciplinarian
Demon who sees to his
Ultimate end

CW sex

Today's delightful discovery:

The French name for sex while spooning is "the 99 position".

"Let some droppings fall on me"

Hymn texts which might have been better phrased.

I had to reply to a Christian calling Pride month "a celebration of the deadliest sin" (i.e. pride) I thought I'd save it here for reference:

There are two things called "pride". One of them is the opposite of humility: it's a form of idolatry, replacing God with the self.

This is the monospace #font I made for the command line in the 1992 game Lord Avalot d'Argent.

I've just converted it to OpenType under the name "Ordsall". I think it's a rather pleasing font, though it needs further cleaning up and many more glyphs.

This has to be satire, right…?

Oh wait, there are people who think "Hallelujah" is about Christmas.
And that "Zombie" is about Halloween.
And that "Every Breath You Take" is about cherishing a partner
And that "The Keeper" is about shooting deer.
And that "Blackbird" is about blackbirds.
And…

Weird thing: late last week, YouTube decided to show 80000 people a clip from "Soap" I uploaded three years ago. Almost as many views since then as in the decade before.

It's even pushed me almost halfway to monetisation level (which shows you how difficult it is to get YouTube to pay people).

These stories are all true, unless they're not.

I can't say, because they fade away--

like bad dreams,
like the stench of pipe tobacco,
like the ruins of a school.

I wish they'd told me.

I'd have loved to walk among the broken ruins of the place.

Listen, I'd say to the twisted steel and the heaps of asbestos.
Look.
This is the end of all the stories.

I'm still here.

You're dead.

That means I win.

Don't go looking for Briarfield.

It's not there.
Maybe it never was.
At least, I'd like to hope so.

The borough council saw sense, and razed the place at last.

Maybe they'll build something useful.

"Oops, there goes a billion kilowatt dam"

— There are in fact seven dams worldwide with a capacity over one gigawatt. Most of them are in China; the others are in South America. There would be more if it wasn't for that damn sheep.

AI will happily talk nonsense. Pasting an AI's answer as a reply is obvious, and makes you look a fool.

I had someone pull this trick on me today. Hence the comic.

Page 534: a snail ("limax").

In modern biology, "Limax" is the type genus of slugs. In medieval Latin, it could also refer to snails. I think that might be the start of a sketch of a slug above it.
