I'm not around that but I have friend who's struggling, there's things I dont bring up because I know its pointless at least for now, not the same as maga cult but there are parallels.

Just this one thing would likely end a dem presidency and put a repub president other then trump under enormous pressure, for trump, its just Friday.

There have been multiple reasons since then to not vote for trump, even if I liked stuff he was doing which didnt and dont he was a obvious walking disaster, use your imagination, nothing is too "out there" enough for trump to "cause" it to happen one way or another.

Its beyond dumb to invite more scrutiny for your actions on jan6th, that's the only result i see, voters even repub ones are likely to take din view of self dealing.

I am certain that the Venezualen military has the ability to either sink or cause enough damage that aircraft carrier is incapable of supporting military action. They will likely only do that if US attacks and kills Venezualen soldiers. If it happens that way im willing to bet Hegseth is responsible

The silver lining is with the 60 vote threshold its hard to do anything with repubs, by acting the way they are repubs are demolishing dem support for 60 vote threshold.

Literally have not heard of 50 year before they brought it up, the longest I've ever heard is 40 yrs because beyond 40, its impractical, very few people work for 50 yrs. Its a bad sign if repubs dont slam idea, it'll be because they dont think people will be able to afford the lower amortisation

Mamdani, like the guy but this idea that if you put the most progressive candidates forward everywhere you'll win is incredibly naive, if people do not show up at the ballot in 2026 and vote dem because you pissed off about shutdown then you have shit for brains.

Thats one of the things people forgot, repubs could have said yeah one year extension makes sense etc but trump still needs to sign it, and based on what we've seen he may have allowed shutdown to go on for weeks, the man simply doesn't give a shit.

Don't know shaheen well but she seems serious, if she saw no "real deal" coming that's a bad sign, that likely means that repubs are useless until the mid terms. They may think they can bamboozle people about who did what but dont see that working this time.

Its not really a resistance movement its a we dont want things to collapse movement, that's where things are at, repubs have pretty much lost the plot, they sorta in a space in which they really stand for nothing, they literally appear to be hoping "that everything somehow works out" weird but true.

Remember repubs including Bondi were all in about releasing Epstein files until dems said, fine let's release them, all of it. Suddenly repubs had cold feet, id do the same with 60 vote threshold f'k it doesn't work when we are in minority, why have it.

I dont see the 40 dem senators who voted no being interested in keeping 60 vote threshold, everyone needs to remember 60 vote threshold can be undone by a 51 vote majority, the 8 dem senators who voted yes know 60 vote threshold not working currently when their in minority. 51 that's all it takes.

Do you think repubs are rational actors at this point, the evidence suggests they aren't, they were getting the lion share of blame for shutdown, your focused on this issue of "caving", maybe more people need to spend sometime asking why polls about who is getting heat is not causing compromise.
