It was another Morrison government scam, encourage people to spend their super then deny them govt assistance that they otherwise would have been entitled to

A friend was made redundant just before COVID really hit. He withdrew $10k from his super to support his family while he looked for work - & was then told he couldn't get Centrelink benefits because he had 'too much $ in the bank'
Made him use up his buffer before they'd give him a cent

It is appalling policy, designed to prop up the Ponzi scheme Australian housing has become.

The English brought them here to hunt - reminds me of Oscar Wilde, "Fox hunting is the unspeakable in pursuit of the inedible".
The man sure had a way with words.

I ❤️ foxes, even tho they're classified vermin in Australia (unfortunately do kill our tiny native animals). Had a pet one as a kid that was caught in a trap, dad took him to the vet and had his leg fixed. He was so beautiful.

No, I still only have access because work pays for the subscription. The Spectrum section used to be worth a look, and I still like reading the letters (must piss the editor off, mostly anti-LNP) but otherwise, it's a sorry end to what was once decent reportage

I found it so stressful I had to stop watching.

And the forelock tugging Sydney Morning Herald hasn't opened the article for comment, as is standard on any article or op ed regarding Israel. Obviously scared of the response from subscribers

‘Don’t point fingers at us’: Israeli ambassador’s message to Australians
In a rare interview, the Israeli ambassador said he believed many Australians fail to grasp the seriousness of the security threats his nation faces.

I'm Australian, would never have seen this cartoon if Ann Telnaes' resignation hadn't been reported in the media.

Bezos sure Streisanded the hell out of that cartoon, didn't he?!

Also, kudos @anntelnaes.bsky.social for refusing to bend the knee
