The deadliest six-month period for immigration detention since 2018 has occurred this year, according to a letter Georgia Sens. Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock sent to the Department of Homeland Security this week.

Less than 24 hours after that letter was published, the year became deadlier still.

Journo friends. Having a convo with a non journo friend and: Were u taught to look up criminal histories of folks you interviewed? I remember being told to write a paragraph for "balance." I also remember pushing back early on when I realized it was happening mostly with POC story subjects.
