Went in to check on what I thought would be my sleeping six year old at 10:45pm only to find her awake and reading in bed.

I am equal parts chuffed and exasperated.

A lot has changed in the 1,076 days between Cade Cavalli’s first and second start.

But a few things were the same. The ovation he received as he exited. And the fact that Cavalli’s starts every fifth day are still going to be worth following:
At the end of Cade Cavalli’s long road back, the Nationals find a win
In his first MLB start since 2022, Cavalli impressed into the fifth inning and the Nationals ended their skid in walk-off fashion by beating the Athletics, 2-1.

We had fun today honoring Boz. They say the personal connection with readers is the thing that will save human-produced journalism. I dunno. But I sure wish we had chartered a bus for WaPo subscribers

The constant mental pendulum swinging between “I should work on my syllabus” and “I’m not on contract so I shouldn’t do work” is WILD this week.

I fear for the long term health of my eyeballs because of the number of times I roll them upon hearing every crappy initiative Ryan Walters tries to unleash upon the children and families of Oklahoma. How can one person have so many horrific takes?!

It should go without saying that the name of Washington’s NFL team should be of little or no concern to the president of the United States. But apparently, we have to say it.

Column by Barry Svrluga:
Column | Trump has nothing better to do than debate an NFL team’s name?
The Commanders name should be left up to the team and its owners, not the president.

Honestly the best way of dealing with the horror and rage at the propaganda fest for dear leader in my favorite city this weekend has been working as a Girl Scout day camp leader all week.
I’m surrounded by confident, kind, empathetic powerhouses of little girls and I’m also completely exhausted.

It's not a "crew." These people are not astronauts, they are passengers. This is not feminism. This is not anywhere in the neighborhood of feminism.

This is the glossy capitalist influencer ripoff known as "empowerment" and it's just gross!
