I feel so demoralized and paralyzed about writing and I'm trying to remind myself that slop gets published every day. I wanna be part of the slop pile. I need to make a plan and get back on the horse.

Many indies ARE now on Itch, Kobo, etc, but many others are locked into KU. The 90 day exclusivity lock is something to bear in mind. It can’t always be FAST.
It’s a hard road to navigate & indies are doing their best to stay afloat while following the readers.

I spent my 20min drive to work workshopping a name for a late-aughts R&Bpop boy duo where the name is an amalgamation of the two artists name and got to work and said "let me write this down" and I wrote down the word "code"

Considering trying out Plottr. Something I used to do and am trying not to do anymore, is thinking that writing tools are a "reward" for being a "real writer."
It took me years to get Scrivener because I thought I had to EARN it. Then I got it without "earning it" and wrote 50k words!

Writing dilemma: I need my story to be set in an Atlanta-esque city (large metro area with a lot of wealthy black folk). I know virtually nothing about Atlanta, but New Orleans just isn't big enough for the worldbuilding I'm doing.
Should I just make a city up and approximate it?

The Prospects by KT Hoffman just altered my brain chemistry in the best way. I read it in two days and I am kicking myself for not drawing it out more because I'm never going to get to read it for the first time again.
