This is very abridged, and all the branches of existence he has is still a mess. In essence, Mark the Character (who I relate to, but isn't me) is different from Mark the Streamer (which is me, more or less). Neither are meant to be that serious. It's confusing... but TLDR: don't worry about it.

The version of Mark that I use for VTubing has a slightly different design, and I modified his lore to be more open-ended and up to interpretation. Both are "canon", just think of it like different versions of Miku or whatever. I just did this so I can come across to you as myself when I stream.

To be clear - he is still meant to BE a character, just not one that I take all that seriously anymore! He isn't "literally me" (I have another lil guy meant to fill that role, pic below) and a lot of info I wrote about him is still "in effect" - I'm just not doing anything with it anymore.

I had about a billion AUs for the fella and the Markverse is overall just long and convoluted. At some point though, I deprecated his storyline, mostly as I've self-inserted too hard for him to work as his own character. I can't write like that, so he's just been serving as my mascot ever since.

As a neurodivergent guy I related a lot with him and had a whole bunch of story ideas involving the fellow. There's a more extensive cast of characters around him (that unfortunately will not be making an appearance on VT), and for some time I took writing him really seriously for his own sake.

The idea was that he's just a weird but ultimately harmless guy, but faces a lot of ostracism for being different which gets to him in the head. His straightforward but sympathetic concept and his cute and simple design is what made me fall in love with him as a creator, I think.

The whole "government experiment" idea ended up getting phased out pretty quick (mostly because there were LOTS of other OCs like that, it was too similar to M3 and I didn't feel like it enhanced his character meaningfully), but I kept the bit where he's immortal and messes around with robot mods.

Originally he was an immortal young fella who fuses himself with his machinery for Government Soldier Reasons, but could take it off at will and heal back completely. I was inspired a lot by #mother3 and you can see similarities between him and the masked man design-wise in this pic.

I made this dude on Sept 3, 2021 and really had nothing in mind for him as a character except I just wanted to make a hot eboy since those were kinda trendy (I didn't even name him, someone else did). Here are his very first designs - 1st is pretty out of date, but the 2nd's still in use! (rarely)

(Oh and BTW if anyone wants to give listening to this stuff a try let me know!! A lot of the albums, even the more obscure ones, are actually quite easy to listen to - the most challenging/experimental stuff is honestly just the 2nd row, but even they're not so bad.)
