Crown 2.0 is done! I printed this one at 65% scale instead of 100%, as I was afraid that the full size might make it more likely to fall. I think the 65% is a good middle ground between cartoon proportions and stability.

Here’s a closeup! The eyes are oven baked polymer clay with custom glass cabochon irises. The veins are wool, and they’re suspended with fishing wire. I also waterproofed them in case I want to add water to the canisters.

I kind of drew the rest of the owl here, but Perona’s crown is done! I’ll admit this was probably my least favorite prop build to date, as the shape and variety of colors made painting tricky and annoying, but I’m overall happy with the result. #CosplayBuildLog

To curl the wig, I used large curling rods and a steamer. I considered making drill curls, but decided against it since I prefer my wigs to look and move more like actual hair. I’m going to smooth some of the frizz and then the wig is done!
