Turned a belt into a hat band. Glued ends together and sewed onto the base with a backstitch under the elastic band. Just a little effort makes a big difference.

Used fray spray to reduce the chance of the screw holes getting larger/fraying. Big rubber washers on the back for better fit+spreads force.
