This is the frame registration - the fly-wheel turns with a stepper motor and contacts with a piece of copper tape - if it hasn't reached the copper tape then the motor advances another step until the green led lights - then we're good to go with the frame capture.

Captured using a Raspberry Pi with Picamera (HQ) in HD from a 16mm cine film nearly 80 years old! The film runs at 24 frames per second but I have upsampled it to 60fps - the sound was captured separately using an optical sound read head on a Bell and Howell Filmosound.

Replaced the '4K' camera in my 16mm cine scanner with an HQ Raspberry Pi cam - getting much better results now - getting quite happy with the output now. #16mmfilm #retrovideo #16mm #cinefilm #raspberrypi #opencv #python

OK - I think the texture resolutions are a bit better now and I've got a security barrier actuator working - the idea is that this will be controlled with your security pass (which happens to go walkies in one storyline) #gamedev #indiedev #indiegamedev #threejs #RogueEngine #b3d
