Yup, I'm white and it would never occur to me to call someone "aunt" who is not literally my aunt. But that's kind of a white-person thing! Really weird to bust someone over this on La Mega of all places.

I sort of know a few people who were born into that kind of privilege. About half of them are sympathetic to fascism, and the other half make a point of being very visibly "apolitical."

So I imagine many people right now are honestly not quite processing the thing that happened in Chicago. It's extreme enough to make you go "okay I totally did not hear that right."

I remember hearing that on NPR at the time and assuming I'd misheard, there's just no way cops *dropped a bomb* on a multifamily residence building. Then it faded from the news.
Literally *decades* later I went WAIT HOLD UP WHAT.

I'll never forget the "journalist" in Cleveland who reported that she knew a BLM protest was blocking Interstate 90 because she heard cops telling them to stop blocking Interstate 90.
